Onboard with the 2008 Olympics: The pinta racing team
Just christened on Lake Starnberg, the pinta L is already fully involved in the 2008 Summer Olympic Games. The boat, built by Marc Pickel and Ingo Borowski themselves, should be lucky for the pinta racing team and bring them the longed-for success in Qingdao, China.
The first stage win was the christening at the end of May under a brilliant sun. The future is still open. However, a powerful following wind is already certain for the team surrounding Steffi Rothweiler and Vivien Kussatz. They will receive a white cloth - signed by all pinta elements employees worldwide - as a lucky charm for the trip.
A somewhat more substantial lucky charm is the qualifications that the team provides and that were rewarded with the nomination for the games. From a private coach, a meteorologist, rules experts, all the way to mental training, the sailors, both men and women, have a polished program and are leaving nothing to chance. Even the light wind conditions in Qingdao were taken into consideration while the boat was being built.
The countdown has started, we are crossing our fingers.
